Background
I went to the University of North Carolina getting a degree in Marketing, Merchandising and Advertising. I also attended gemology schools. I worked with my father in a retail jewelry store from 1949 to 1963. I owned and operated Leeds Holding Co. which owned 4 catalog showroom companies. (Service Merchandise is an example of a catalog showroom store). I supervised all phases of the business including merchandising, buying, advertising, operations and accounting. I sold the company to a national firm in 1979. I enjoy giving back to the Central Florida Community that made it possible for my success in business.
Business Advice
1. Read a book on logic. It will help you learn how to solve problems.
2. Have knowledge about the business you are considering.
3. Have a product or service in which you can be better than existing competition or have a new product or service that does not now exist.
